Hi

In film development one usually talks about the contrast/graininess of the film being a product of temperature and dilution, and perhaps time and amount of agitation. Will using a higher temperature with a more diluted developer give the same result? Is time itself a factor or only compared to temperature/dilution? I guess the amount of agitation will affect the amount of tone in the developed film, and perhaps shorten the time?

Thanks for all input

No. None of this can be said.

Photography is wonderfully resistant to a Unified Theory.

On the other hand, it can be perfectly consistent within one's
expressive technique.
