developing film exposed long ago

I have some film shot years ago but never developed - Kodacolor, for C-41. Should I give it more time than the recommended time? How much?Some is decades old. Occasionally I have sent such rolls to a processor, but the negatives come back too faint to use.

when you send them to the processor tell them that you pushed the film 2 stops.. they will overdevelop it and the contrast should pick up..

What if I develop it myself. What percentage increased time, do you think?
