Hello there!

I just finished a roll of expired Acupan 800 and I want to develop it by my self at home. I normally use Ilfosol 3, but I don't find anywhere the developing time. 800 asa black and white film is a rare film...

Any help?

Thanks!

I can find plenty of times for Acupan 800 in plenty of developers but not for Ilfosol 3. Do you have any other developer? If not try searching for the difference between existing films that have times for say ID11 and Ilfosol then use what this difference is for Ilfosol 3

Just out of curiosity when did your Acupan 800 expire?

I have used Ilfosol 3 for many years and I have found a rough rule of thumb for unknown films. It could be used as a starting reference.
This is based on 1+14 dilution @ 20C, agitation 10 sec every minute.
100 speed films, 8 minutes
400 speed films. 12 minutes
800 speed films, 20 minuted

AFAIK Acupan800 was from around late 1990s early 2000s.

Was Paterson Acupan 800 a Foma product?

As I recall it was rebranded Foma T800 a hybrid T grain film, not sure why Foma took it out of production.

I only have Ilfosol... Next time I'll buy another developer like Kodak HC-110 that is more versatile.

In fact the film is of a friend of mine. She bought a bunch of expired film rolls without the original package (for a very good price haha) so we don't really know.

Wow thanks! I'll try it like this and we'll see if something comes out. There's nothing important on that roll so it's okay if we screw it up.
