Developing 120 and 35mm at the same time?

Is it OK to develop 35mm & 120 ACROS together? One roll of each. Both shot at ISO 100. Rodinal 1:50?

you can process any film at the same time,
as long as you have room in the tank

i wouldn't mix color and b/w or anything like that,
or something that might process at a different time &c
just because it is a pain to remove a roll with the lights out
and finish processing 2 rolls in different tanks &c ...
but 2 rolls of the same emulsion, same developer, same time ...
don't hesitate ...

each developing roll is a discreet chemical action, so as long as the developing time is the same, you can mix film types all you want -- don't even need to be the same asa rating or brand or anything. 10 minutes in D-76 is ten minutes, one roll doesn't know what the other is. If I have two rolls that have developing times within 30 seconds of each other I even do those together and just give one an extra 30 seconds -- what with pouring and refilling and so on, I figure there's plenty of slop in the system and they all seem to come out fine.

There might be subtle nuances in agitation effect that could make a minor difference in final density, but I certainly wouldn't worry about it. It is important not to let bubbles adhere to the emulsion, since ACROS seems more sensitive than most film in this respect. As soon as the dev is poured into the tank, I give it some decent thumps to dislodge any bubbles, and thereafter from time to time.

I do 120 and 35mm together all the time. Try 11min at 20C for 1:50 as a good starting point.

I'm planning ahead, just a bit. I want to shoot a roll in about an hour. Maybe go down to the harbor and shoot some tourists! We have daylight until about 8:30 PM. I have a roll of 35mm ACROS waiting for developer, so thought I would combine it with 120. Hopefully, will do it tonight.

Depends on what you plan to do with the negs and the contrast of the scenes. I personally pull back a little on my development times as I often scan the negs and find that is better for the results I want. And I often over-expose the film slightly and then cut development time back about 10% in contrasty situations.

Just make sure you have sufficient developer (concentrate) for the amount of film being processed.

The instructions for Rodinal say 10ml/roll (1 roll of 35mm/36 or 1 roll of 120 or 1 8x10 sheet),
so 2 rolls = 20ml * 50 = 1000 ml of liquid. Is your tank that large?

I was going to use a JOBO 1520 w/1530 ext. I better measure the combined stack. Seems like I did two rolls of 120 with them but it's been too long to remember .
