Hi

I've stumbled upon the Rollei Ortho 25 film after I had been looking for an orthochromatic film for a while (and didn't find this one!).

Up to now I've "always" used Ilfosol 3 to develop and Ilford Rapid fixer to fix.
But to be fair, haven't developed that many films yet.

I've found one recipe of someone developing Rollei Ortho 25 with Ilfosol 3, diluted 1:16 for 3min 40s, but no example pictures. So I'm not sure I want to do that..

I'm contemplating getting some Rollei RLC Low Contrast, but the price is sub-optimal in addition to it apparently not having much shelf life.
Adding to that I don't know if I even will like the film, I'm sure that if I like it, it will be my go-to film, but if I don't like it I don't want to have spent cash on a developer for it.

Is there any good alternative that might be slightly better value and/or has a longer shelf life? I suppose a low contrast developer would be the way to go, but I know exactly nothing about developers to be honest.
Got a film waiting and I can't wait to see it.

You may want to investigate HC110 as this is what I used for this film, I switched to Ilford ortho 25 and use HC110 . In my darkroom the films were identical ...

Ilford can also recommend specific developers for this.

Hi,

I can't help you about the developer question, I used RLC with good success...

I bought some boxes in 4"x5" last month.
Does anyone know if the new film, called Rollei Ortho 25 Plus is identical to Rollei Ortho 25, or just a new batch?

Best

RLS was the best - very nice negatives. I also tried FX37, but the negatives were too contrasty

The Plus is a different film. The first Ortho film was made by Fotokemika (Efke 25 Ort).
