I just did this in the Holga.

But for out-door I might be using Tri-X in Rodinal 1+25 and 1+50. I will try this with a good friend/model of mine in january. But a Tri-X/HP5+ side-by-side shoot might be worth doing...

I've done Efke R50 and KB100 in D76 1:1 with _very_ nice results.

I recently did some EFKE R120 in Rodinal and posted the results in an APUG article. The density figures were determined with the method I wrote in another article using a spot meter. Subjectively, image results were not as pleasing to me as I am used to with Kodak and Ilford products of the same ilk. It may require more experimentation which I do not have time for at the present. The greatest drawback for me is the extreme flexibility. At first I thought EFKE film was thinner than their counterparts, but measurement proved differently. I guess EFKE is on a quite different base.

You can get the Efke films from Photax here in Sweden, they are GREAT on b/w equipment!!!

Has the base of the film changed?
After I tested some 35mm rolls I bought a 100' spool [Efke KB100]. The curl is almost gone and the tint of the base seems slightly different.
Rodinal 1+50 9 min seemed to be right on target.

Photax is rather expensive unfortunately. Fotoimpex in Germany also stock the Efke/adox films + Maco, classic pan, lucky and much more

How about fixer ? should one use hardening fixer with Efke films ?

550 SK. ($82, £43) for 20 reloaded rolls of 35 mm. T-MAX. I pay $90 for the original in my hometown, Aarhus DK.

I just posted a photo with KB25 in Rodinal 1+100, 12 minutes @ 20C. It's a negative scan with only gamma correction applied. I just processed the film this morning, and I'm very happy with the results on my first roll. See "Woodpile and Snow" in my standard gallery. I haven't done the densitometry yet, but will post when I do.

I tried 1+100 for 10.5 minutes (20C) last night and my negs looked too dense when wet
Have to reevaluate them tonight and will re-report later.

As I was looking a the we negs I had a flashback of Agfapan 25... anybody has felt that too?

You asked in my gallery if the contrast seemed high to me, and yes, it does. The rough numbers I have give a CI of about .74 with EI 12, Rodinal 1+100 @12 minutes and 20C. So that's about an N+1 in Zone System terms. I used distilled water for my mix. I'll probably go for about 9 to 10 minutes on the next try.

And yes, it looks a bit like Afgapan 25 with the very clear base and shadow detail that looks "too thin" to hold.

Interesting. I used EI 25 and with 10.5 minutes my negatives seem contrasty.
I reevaluate them last night and they are definitely dense.
I haven't set up my darkroom in the new home yet, so I can;t print to say more accurately what it really is but I'm guesstimating I'm going to need VC filters 1.5 or 1
