I recently found the work of a french photographer and can't quite understand what I see. It almost
has a desaturated effect to it and an incredible sharpness. Having seen the prints in person I know
that these shots did not get a digital treatmetn
hi steveyolk
good to see you here on photrio !
it says on the page you linked to he uses large format
camera and film .. my guess is he uses
a "vintage" lens and overexposing ( by a couple of stops ) expired film ... its just a guess though
ive gotten similar results from that combination ..
Expired film is an option. For better control, undrexposure and underdevelopment with fresh film can be experimented with. It would probably take a few trial and error cycles to find the desired effect.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I actually remember him telling me he shot this on a Rollei 35 so it's more likely part of the film developing process. I'll keep trying!
Is the link working for everyone? I only see some text, and the number "1" placed thorough the page (no images). Or is that the meaning of "desaturated"?
