Denver Meet-up III

Okay, the time is nigh to meet up again. Give a shout letting us know your schedules, except Ed (who works when called, anytime ). Also, any location suggestions would be welcome. The area around Denver Pro Photo is a mix of industrial (to the north, tracks to the west) and an older neighborhood of housing, which has some potential. I'm open for anything though, but figured I'd get the dialog going.

Good to see all of the activity! Okay, December 4th weekend is it. This coming weekend is not good for me as I'm going to an auto boneyard to salvage parts for my project car. So, how's Saturday, December 4? Any preferences on location? The area around Denver Pro Photo might be a possibility - it's a mix of commercial/industrial and older housing. Or, we could go further north (City Park area?).

Don't worry Howard, we have every intention of keeping this going (or at least I do )! One of the future times is bound to work for you!

Hey guys! I'm here too! just been really busy lately with work and the building of the new craft beer brewery we have been working on so there has been NO time! I am planning on attending as far as I know so hopefully we can hook up again!

Great to hear Doug! At this moment we are focusing on Saturday, December 4. Time yet to be determined, though I would suggest around 3PM (the sun typicall sets around 4:30PM so towards the end of our time, the light should get good).

It looks like a beautiful day for Saturday. I'm going to propose backing it up by 30 minutes so we can meet at Denver Pro Photo, which closes at 3pm. So, 2:30 at Denver Pro Photo. If nobody has any better ideas, we can wander the area around DPP for our shoot.

Just an update... we had a good time walking around the neighborhood to the east of DPP. This is a great location for color film as the houses are really colorful. Of course, I did not have color film on hand!

Thanks again. It was a lot of fun... and Audrey has fully recovered from that unfortunate event (it took a couple of days).

Just curious, did you guys get have anyone approach you or give you looks while walking around there? I wanted to do 6th Ave between Monoco and Quebec and I am always wondering if I will be approached by Denver PD.

Not a soul. Folks were very friendly as well (even in an alley). So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah, folks were very friendly. We should hit that neighborhood again when I'm carrying more color.

It was not a great shooting day for me, apparently. I don't do my own 120 dev/scans, so I'm at the mercy of my processor, and my Rollei Retro 80S results are pretty contrasty. Blacks and whites both clipped, in the scans, anyway. The Ektars came out nice, but I've definitely done better with my shooting.

For those not there, these were all shot with a Fuji GW690III.

My first batch...

I have partial rolls still floating around (in the Yashica TLR and Pentax 645), so this is just the first batch. All of these were shot with a Pentax 645NII, 75mm, yellow filter on 320TXP. Developed in HC110, dilution H. Straight scan from negative (Epson V700).
