We originally expected the paper to be in the USA in November or December and thought we would be able to ship it in December or at the very latest at the beginning of the year.
But it seemed to take an excessively long time for the paper to be cut and boxed. We were told that one of the delays was due to every square meter of the paper being checked by hand and eye to make sure there were no manufacturing defects.
In any case, we now have a firm delivery date for the paper to arrive in the USA. The ship is scheduled to arrive in the Port of New York on March 14. The paper then has to clear customs and be trucked to our place. With any luck, we should have the paper here by March 17 or 18. One never knows, however, about the timing of customs clearance: On January 4, the books we had just published in our Brett Weston series arrived in the United States, but they were not released by customs until January 26. Outrageous, but there was nothing anyone could do about it. We surely hope that does not happen with the shipment of the Lodima paper.
Assuming the paper arrives at our place by approximately March 17 or 18, we then have to label it. That could take a couple of very intense days and since that is the time of AIPAD (the photography gallery dealers fair in New York, which we will attend) it could take a day or two longer. As soon as the boxes are labeled we will pack up the paper and try to have it on its way by Monday, March 22 or by sometime during that week.
These delays have been more frustrating to us than you can imagine. But at last the paper will be here.
We could not have done this without the patience and support of those that have ordered the paper, and for that we send endless thanks.
