Good news is the Dektol works good despite the darker color. In fact, the color isn't as dark as it seemed when I first mixed it the previous day. I have no explanation for this. Still, it's a diluted root beer color. I used it to develop some Rollei Infrared at 1:2 with really good density.

Good to hear!

Thanks for the update. Hopefully, this new company won't have all the issues we've seen in recent times. Though I do mix D-72, sometimes it would be nice to just grab a bag of good 'ole Dektol.

IMO mixing D72 from bulk yourself is the best idea; always fresh and always exactly as much as you really need but in any event, I'd still use brown DEKTOL. It may work fine. See if it developsDmax and if yes, go ahead and use it.

E-72, home-brewed, isn't bad neither and more human friendly as it is a Hydroquinone and Metol free.

I wonder if the direct orders are fulfilled by Cinestill? It's curious how all these different businesses are intertwined. I noticed that Cinestill lists an address of 100 Latona Road, Rochester NY, which on Google maps is a small building next to a guard shack at Kodak.

Maybe it depends on where you are located. Not sure and I’ve been confused by the distribution part. I tried to place an order on the Photo Systems website and couldn’t complete it. I was directed to order from Cinestill. I’m in Canada though. When Photo Systems originally announced they were bringing the Kodak chemicals back I emailed them some questions and at the time regarding distribution they said they had appointed Light Pro Group as their Canadian distributor. Maybe that has since changed.

So, basically I don’t have any actual info for you but typed this out anyway 😄
