I've been a little curious about comparing the old FX-39 formula to the new FX-39II to see what the difference is between the old and new. I've searched, but haven't found the MDS for the old FX-39 formula. Does anyone know where to obtain it? I'm trying to figure out what makes the shelf life of the new FX-39II so much better than the old FX-39. Did the old formula have DEG or diethylene glycol in it?
Yes, I pulled that one up too. That MSDS is for the Version 2 even if it says Adox FX-39 at the heading. I just can't find the original MSDS for the first version of FX-39 to compare. I would really like to know what was added to the NEW Adox FX-39II to give it the excellent shelf life compared to the first version.
FWIW I was doing a little clearing up. I had a couple of unopened bottles of the FX-39II, a couple years old. Turned carmel color, not real concerning, still I dumped it as I didn't have any immediate plans for it. I've never been disappointed with Adox products, I just need a plan before I buy it next time.

I had a bottle of the new FX-39II on the shelf that was from when it was shortly after its release. Somehow that bottle got shoved back on the shelf and forgotten. When I finally noticed the less than quarter full bottle it was already 1 1/2 years old and a darker tan color. Being curious I load a short cassette from my bulk roll and snapped of 8 ight exposures and ran then in the old FX-39II. The results were just barely visible. I now gas my FX-39II that I keep in two separate brown glass bottles and have no problems as long as I use it within the normal amount of time.
