Deardorff lens board

Anyone know what size a deardorff 5x7 lensboard is? 4 1/2 x 4 1/2?

The opening in the standard is 4X4". I've made several boards 3 15/16" and the edge that goes under the name plate has to be beveled.
The stepped(inside) measures 3 9/16" & again I cut them to 3 1/2". Total thickness is about 3/8" and the front portion 1/8" inside 1/4".

My 5x7 Deardorff takes 4-1/2x4-1/2.

The bad news is they're not all the same. Mine ('40s) takes boards that are 4.5" square on the outside and 4.25" on the inside. I have friends w/ other Deardorff 5x7s that my boards won't fit on

FWIW mine is # 186.
Sort like making guns in the early part of the 19th century.

It will be a suprise

I asked because I just got one off ebay and was hopeing my 4x4 boards would fit. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
