Hello

i recently bought a 8x10 Deardorff camera in mint state, it has a 7134 number on the front and i would like to know it´s year of production.
I was inclined to buy a Ebony but this was a nice deal, but i do not know much about this camera, it seems robust! are these good cameras?

Very good indeed.
The address given above is for Ken Hough who restores these cameras.
And the Deardorff cameras are back in production in Tennessee. Take a look at their site too.

You being in Europe is not an issue. I will over there the next two weeks and will confiscate, I mean inspect, your camera for you. I am sure it is a piece of garbage. I will return it to the American shores where all this Deardorff junk belongs. Won't even charge you for this service.

BTW - put your head under the groundcloth, and set up a shot. You will see (feel) all the controls are exactly where they should be, making this camera very easy to use.

Rui,

I have both a Linhof 4x5 Technika V and an 8x10 Deardorff V8. I consider both cameras well thought out and well constructed. I have a technical background and appreciate when things are well designed and well made.

If you are used to working with Linhofs then I would not expect the Deardorff to disappoint you, but do understand of course that it does some things differently than the Technika.

I am sure you will enjoy it if it is in good condition. Mine is not, but works well, and that is the critial aspect for me.

Enjoy,

Len
