the exposure times on my 5108 dicromate color head are way to short on smaller prints can I replace the 300 w elh blubs with 150 w blubs and if so which type of 150 w bulb will work ?
thanks
Mitch

Yes, but it will 'only' make one stop of difference. I don't know what exposure times you get and where you'd like them, and if one stop difference would be sufficient.
Consider using an ND filter instead; this also makes it easy to go back to the original light level when making (very) large prints or using slower papers or processes.

Can't comment on the bulb type; I'd wager to say that any halogen bulb fitting in the socket with an approximate color temperature of 3350K should work, but I haven't done a parametric search on it.

As the lower power bulbs produce less heat and use less electricity, you may prefer doing the switch for other reasons. It all turns on whether you are frequently using the enlarger for other formats and larger enlargements.
