I bought this and perhaps wish to return it to its original use. At present used as a copy stand. Would the parts of a 504 work? Really seeking opinions and ideas.
The only thing that may change is the head mount, and that should be easily solvable. I don't have the vertical enlarger anymore, nor the manual at hand, but what you want shouldn't be a problem.
The guy who sold me this is asking £350 for whats missing which i think is on the high side. Are spares available. Bulbs i see on ebay. " I have the diocloric colour head, the transtab which is the power unit for it, and the linked timer unit and the foot switch to operate it. I have also the 6x7 light box for the head along with the 5x7 inch glass fim carrier and the glassless carrier that takes up to 5x7 inch film with the 35mm and 6x7 glassless fim inserts." What if anything is missing? Will it do B&W?
Double check that the 5x7 mixing-chamber (the seller called it lightbox) is also present. Additionally you will need lenses and lens-mounts. The De Vere lens-mount for the 507 (if I recall correctly, as it has been decades since I used one) is a bayonet quick-fit which works well but would be difficult to make yourself.
It would also be worth checking prices and availability with Odyssey.co.uk as they are the current incarnation of the 'De Vere' firm, although they refurbish rather than manufacture these days.
And yes, it will do a very nice job of printing black-and-white - either with the Dichromat head or with under-lens filters.
Thanks for the help. I read somewhere i think the 504 and 507 use the same stand just varying in height . Hence the question about 504 lamp housing etcetera on this stand. Just really pricing options.

You'll probably spend a whole lot more trying to get all the individual pieces parts.....but, if you wanted an enlarger, why would you buy a copy stand without the camera?
