De Vere 507 dichrohead MKII

I bought a secondhand 507 with a dichrohead in a great condition.

Now I want to know how the tran stab 500 works, both bulbs a wired in series and get 42V AC.
But how is this done? and there is a little switch sound in the head when I fire the light but there is nothing like a shutter.
Does anyone have a thematic of that stuff?

At the moment there's nothing to be fixed so I'm very happy with it, I even bought spare bulbs for € 20 which isn't too much.

Has anyone changed the fans? Cause I think there are better ones available nowadays.

The best person to get information about these machines is from John Boyce at Odyssey Sales - he may well have a schematic, though the wiring isn't complicated.

Great enlarger!!!! Looks to be in really nice shape. I have a 5108 so can't be of much help with the 507, except to suggest to you that you can find NOS bulbs on the auction site very reasonable. I've bought at least 100 that way usually in cases of 12 for about $5 ea. I've also bought 4 fans again at the auction site. Used, but in good shape. Just a suggestion. They're held in place by screws, and the electrical just plugs in. They don't go bad too often. Good luck and let us know how it works for you. Here's a shot of my 5108.
