Has anyone here tried Tri-X in DD-X using stand or semi stand development?
Is this developer even useable in this manner (bromide streaking? Does it even contain Bromide?)

If you have tried this, I would be curious to hear what your experience has been.

cheers,

I tried DDX for the first time yesterday, and used semi-stand. I haven't printed yet, but the negs look very good, perhaps very slightly overdeveloped if they're off the mark at all, but the highlights don't look blocked up at all, and they look easily printable. TMY 135-36 at 74F for 12 minutes, 30 seconds initial agitation with 15 seconds agitation at 4 and 8 minutes. That's double the Ilford recommended time as recommended by df cardwell, who hadn't used the combo before. No bromide drag.

hey lee,
what was your dilution?
David,

Sorry to be slow on the answer. I've been out shooting.
1:4 dilution with the total volume coming to 400 ml. 80 ml stock and 320 ml H2O.

Just as a matter of interest, whether DDX contains bromide when you start or not. it does as soon as development begins. It is a product of development. If bromide streaking occure, it is this bromide that causes it, not the initial content.
