David is one of those guy's that isn't content to be confined by "accepted / normal photographic techniques". When he sees contradictions, un-truths, or out-dated techniques for modern materials he finds, tests, and proves that another way is better. SLIMT contraction development of negatives being a perfect example. His Fine Print Making Secrets is another good one. He also isn't afraid to take a few swings at the Zone System in several articles.
