DAS sources

With the new European ban on dichromate sales I decided to try diazo sensitiser for my carbon prints.

Can anyone recommend a source to buy some diazidostilbene in the EU? Phototypie.fr seem to be out of stock. Any other options to ordering from the US?

I am in UK, and two local companies I called wouldn't sell to an individual buyer.

Did you ever find a supplier in the uk?
I've been doing oilprinting a lot recently, and it would be nice to switch to DAS if possible.

There is some available from www.phototypie.fr currently but I never ordered from them - my workshop was burgled, all equipment stolen, so I gave up. (Sorry, just checked, they are out of stock again)

Everyone from Walmart to Amazon sells Speedball in the US, can't tell you about shipping though. It may not be the first choice and I don't know about other forms of DAS

2) DAS is not really cheap...some of you has ever tried the following Speedball DIAZO Sensitizer or something like that to see if it works for carbon tissues? If it does, how much do I have to add in the glop?

Speedball will work with carbon printing, but shelf life of the tissue will not be as great as with DAS. A number of other Diazonium/diazotype/diazo compounds, including one called Diazon 22LZ (CAS 68988-17-0 (4-Diazodiphenylamine/formaldehyde condensate hydrogen sulfate complex) that I have worked with, have longer shelf life than Speeball and are less expensive than DAS, but shelf life of the tissue is still not as great as that Das sensitized tissue.

Thanks Wayne, I can get speedball (and other diazo compounds) here in the UK too, so I'll look into it and read through the link.
