Hi Guys- I was just wondering how many people on here still have operational darkrooms in New England. I am in Mass. in the New Bedford area and I have a darkroom that will hopefully have a new sink hooked up soon. In my sink, I can print up to 20x24 prints and I can handle up to 4x5 film. I only work with black and white as of right now.

Fully operational in Pawtucket. Still have one at work too, but it's not very busy these days.

At work? If you don't mind me asking, where do you work?

A well known art school. When I say not too busy, I mean no activity what so ever, but I can't bring myself to give it up yet.

Well that is most unfortunate. Maybe some kind of marketing would help?

My darkroom is set up with three enlargers, one set up for 35mm, the other medium format, (both omega c760s) and the last an Omega D5 with dichro head for 4x5 and anything else. Film and prints get washed in the bathroom or kitchen sink. I'm doing only black and white prints right now as well.

Got a jobo for doing color and lots of old e-6 chemistry when I feel like lugging it out. Only thing I really wish to add is a dry mount press. Anybody got one they don't need? Cheap?

In NH, Vermont and Western MA

I have a complete darkroom in my home, plus I am partly responsible for the rental one at Vermont Center for Photography.
I know of at least 4 other private darkrooms which are in western NH, Vermont and western MA.
Plus there are a few darkrooms at NH institute of Art in Manchester.

I'm in New Hampshire. I have a personal one in which I do both color and black and white film and paper development. 16x20 is my general max size, but I can do 20x24 in drums or trays.

I've got a complete darkroom, pretty busy, D2 35mm-4x5 black and white, running water, big Pakomax, floral wallpaper. Easels up to 16x20, mostly printing 8x10, often on 11x14 paper, separate framing-matting area. Crowded.

This is an ongoing quest of mine also.

Dead Link Removed near South Station seems to be still running. I'd like to visit them sometime.

Saratoga Springs, NY is almost New England - my darkroom handles 4x5 film and prints up to 11x16 in b&w. Theoretically, it could handle larger film or prints, and I have done both E-6 and Cibachrome color using essentially the same equipment in a previous darkroom.

I've got a permanent darkroom in Midcoast Maine for B&W. (Color I do digital). Chromega-B for 35mm/6x6 and a Beseler cb7 with a dichroic head for 4x5. I print mostly 8x10 but sometimes 5x7 and 16x20. There's a few other people around with darkrooms too, probably not too many though.

I have a full color and B&W darkroom here in Seacoast area, NH. Can do up to 4x5 sized film, paper up to 20x24 at least and probably larger.

There's a few where I work too (UNH), mostly B&W, though they might do some color too.

I ran across a guy on craigslist who was thinking about opening one up but only got 4 responses to his ad. Tried to convince him it was a good idea, but he never got back with me. Maybe we should consider pooling resources and start our own public darkroom!

never been there (I have my own darkroom), but it might interest some people enough to investigate.
