I am conducting a spot of research for a project I’m doing for my sustainability focussed BSc(Hons) Technology: Design and Innovation and wonder if you might be able to help?

Specifically I am looking into darkroom water supply, waste water disposal and environmental controls (temperature, humidity, ventilation etc.) in and wonder what, if any, problems people suffer with these or how they might be improved? Grateful if you would complete this short Darkroom Survey?

Thanks in anticipation

Mick

Isn't spelt something vegans eat?

As a reluctant vegetarian, I can attest that most of the stuff tastes like something spelled w/ an 's', but it ain't spelt.

I'm sure I'll get some grief over ain't. If it's good enough for Faulkner amd Tennessee Williams, I'm OK w/ it.

I think question 10 is poorly drafted. A question for a survey like this should be objective. The wording of question 10 ("with no thought or concern about any environmental impact") interjects a value judgement and can distort responses.

Done. My answers might be interesting for you... I have no water in my darkroom and have really streamlined both water/chem use and also waste discharge. To the point that I almost don't mind having no sink!

I see that some people have managed to complete your survey, but I wonder how; no link shows up on my computer.

Give the guy a break--he's in Australia. The speak the same language like what's in Great Britain. Just because we Americans speak English is no reason to expect other countries to do so.
"England and America are two countries separated by a common language."

Funny how people from the UK like to correct other English speakers but still get it wrong themselves.
Look up spelt versus spelled and see which one is predominantly used in the UK versus USA.

I think Steve was just making a joke.

"Whilst" is an official British usage of "while", because I print chemical labels for a product exported to Britain. Before going to press, several proofs were approved and corrected to specifically use the world "whilst". So why not "spelt"?. The word that galls me is "snuck", as in we SNEAKED into such-and-such place. There's no such word as "snuck", unless you're just plain ignernt and ain't got a lick of sense.

Ahh, but you have used the word "snuck" in an online forum, which will cause the OED's usage counter to increment. If you hadn't of even mentioned "snuck", there would have been less chance of the word being snuck into the language! We must all be vigilant, or we might be frumulated by a splatitude of memewords!
