Hi,

I wonder if you know a website that shows how the enlarger print the image. Like first you see the test-strip and then the descission of contrast and then dodge and burn etc.

It doesn't matter how I google, but I always come up with those damn digital tutorials.

Yes, I know that there are books on this subject, but there must exists some good tutorial on the 'net as well.

I know the basics, but it's always good too see how somebody else thinks and does it.

One thing I wonder is that Ilford makes a booklet like that, and I was wondering why it is not online since there is no claim of copyright on it. (which does not mean the copyright does not exist. it does.) There are a few different generations of the booklet but they are promo materials for Multigrade paper, and many examples in the booklet are very good. Very concise and very good.

The best book, which I can highly recommend is the Bartlett/Tarrant "Black & White: Photographic Printing Workshop".

After a intro with the basics, which is also quite interesting, I think up to 40 detailed examples, step by step from the straight print to the final one, dodging, , hold off eyes, burning, composition fo image, all explained in detail.

I got mine cheap through abebooks. It took nealry 2 month from us to europe...

I would stop reading internet. The more i read, the more i realise that this makes one light in the head, because of the different aproaches.
