Darkroom sink. How big I need?

I'll be building new darkroom over next one or two months.

Till now I washed prints in my bathtub. I'm planning to buy or build big vertical print washer in future but the sink is much more urgent.

I was thinking about building or ordering custom sink but I'm not sure what size would be ok. I was thinking of 70x100 cm outer size. I want to be able to comfortably print and tone 50x60cm prints. I think I might fit even wider sink but having experience only with bathtub I don't really know what I need.

How big is your biggest tray? I would go one format higher and be able to comfortably have two of that resting in the basin, provided you have the room. Gives ytou space to expand.

Your sink cannot be too big... go as big as you can possibly build it!

Yes. Figure out what the biggest sink you can possibly fit into the space is and go with that.
And put in twice as many outlets as you think you need, too.

Also double the number of water outlets. I have one every two feet.

Your requirements will change over time. Almost always you will want more sink space in the future. So as everyone suggests, get the biggest sink possible.

As an absolute bare minimum, you'll want something 100cm x 200cm. And that's an absolute bare minimum. If you can find one/build one and have room for it, get something 300cm x 100 cm. For a home darkroom, I don't know that it is practical/reasonable to have something wider (150cm vs 100cm), only because it gets harder to clean if they get wider (most home darkroom sinks abut a wall on one side, and anything much wider than 100cm gets hard to reach the back side of).

Further, you may want to plan your construction so that plumbing and electrical can be modified over time without tearing out walls.

Eight feet long (243.84 centimeters), by 30 inches (76.2 centimeters) to the wall across from you, at waist level height is a very popular and standard size. Budget and size of room of course are controlling factors.

I'm not only planning that in my new darkroom, but the plumbing boards can be quickly dismounted from the wall for ease of adding to and modifying the plumbing arrangement. Same ease of modification logic apples to my choice of PEX piping and fittings.
