Darkroom editing. Different types

Hello everybody, I was looking for some information about what types of editing/manipulation can be made with film in the post processing (during develop, printing), but all I got from google is about digital photography. I know some things can be made, like dodge, burn, and increase contrast. Sorry for my english, spanish is my native language. This goes for B&W and Color too, I couldn't find a general forum to post this, sorry if I missed it. All information would be appreciated.

Basically anything people know from photoshopping can be done in the darkroom/lab too.

Thus the range stretches from enhancing contrast or crrecting hues to manipulating blemishes up to complete image manipulation.

dodging, burning, masking, contrast intensification/reduction, color tinting via toners, solarization/Sabattier, basically anything really. The amount of difficulty encountered arriving at the various ends you may have in mind ranges over a myriad of factors, though.

Best bet is a used book store. Most of the stuff I play with is ripped from darkroom technique books. Good, cheap reference material. I still buy anything I come across. For five bucks, if there's one useful idea in there, it's worth it.

I'd start with Tim Rudman's " The Photographer's Master Printing Course. He covers it all. Once you can do what Tim's book shows you then you might be ready for Jerry Uelsmann. I'd be happy of I could do what Tim shows in his book. Available second-hand at reasonable prices from Abe Books or Alibris

This is a great forum but you really cannot learn darkroom manipulation from individual posts

"Editing" is a poor choice of words. Dodging, burning, bleaching, varying contrast, masking, toning, ...
