I have the 2nd edition of Anchell’s Darkroom Cookbook – well-used and falling apart. Yesterday, I came across the 3rd edition, and while researching that, I found the 4th edition!

What are the differences? Does the 4th (or even 3rd) edition have a lot of material not found in the 2nd edition? I got it ages ago mainly to experiment with mixing my own chemistry and I really like it. Is it worth my while to update?

All are slightly different, but not drastically so.

As I recall, there is some information removed from earlier editions in the later ones to make room for new sections, but not a huge difference.

I find the older editions on ABE Books, Thriftbooks or Better World Books for really cheap, so its not such a burden to have them all.

The one thing you have to do is search out the Eratta information on all editions. I think its here: https://darkroomcookbook.com/phpbb/

There's a newest edition in the works. I have a couple. The last one is more fleshed out, more contributors, a good read. I can see having all editions especially since the first couple editions are available for a few dollars used.
