Darkroom as a studio

Do others also sometimes use the darkroom as a studio? I find the exclusion of light a great benefit for total control when lighting table top objects.

In as much as most of my cameras are 40 years old, I sometimes use the dark room as a make shift repair shop.

Not a bad idea if there is enough room. We use very heavy black felt to control light when shooting product shots or food. Works fine for me.

In my last house I used a room meant for a rec room as both a darkroom and a small studio. It was about 26x20. Worked great, really miss it.

Out of necessity, I use the darkroom as studio. Single purpose though - copying prints to share on APUG. I have to bring in strobes and tripod and plug the faucet to prevent accidental introduction of water to the set. It's a bit of effort so I don't do it that often and it's why you haven't seen recent prints. I don't feel like breaking it down and doing it until I get several prints spotted.

Actually, my motivation to setup Studio Mode is stalled because I have a backlog of negatives that I'm excited to see as finished prints.

You don't need courage. You just need to be poor.

But I like it like this.

The bad thing is that my bed on the conner of the room can make models a bit worried at the beginning (as if the bed would make any difference if I had second intentions).
But soon they realise how pathetic I am and they are comfortable again.

I have a 700 sq' loft, meaning no rooms, just a bathroom with a door. My bed is next to the kitchen and my shooting place extends from there, sinks and enlargers at room front.

Everything in one room. I also have the entire space lit by LED red light 24/7.

I fool with film in the bathroom.

Computer station in the middle.

powerful exhaust fans

zero daylight, I have to open my front door to see what is happening outside.

Works for me.
