Dark slide handles

Does anyone have any clever ideas on replacing missing dark slide handles? I have several older 8x10 film holders with the wire handles and the wire handles are missing. Makes it a little tough pulling the dark slide out!

Clothes hanger wire and a good pair of needle-nose pliers with a cutter...that's how I start most improvised fabrication projects and this sounds like an apt candidate for that approach.

Same thing here. I use a spool of that heavy gauge wire they sell in the hardware section of walmart. I make a "U" shape with some pliers and spread it into the holes. Naturally, you can be as inventive as you wish, but whatever you do, "SAFETY FIRST".
