Terrific, Mike! Best of luck with your shots.

Matthew: What's the latest on 8.1 (Nikon)?

Shawn and I have both sent messages to Matthew and have had no answer so far. Let there be no panic as yet.. we've got to assume he's just been extra busy and hasn't been able to get on to let us know the progress..

Either that or that Nikon was far too nice to pass on

I think he's been a little under the weather the last couple of days... Hurricane Irene caused some significant damage to my cousin's place in Maryland, several trees down, power out, neighbor's house on fire. Since Matthew is also in Maryland...

Actually, holding the camera for two months would be nowhere near the longest time someone's held on to one of these, so Matthew's good! I'm sure he'll chime in soon.

Probably one of the Nikkormat/Nikomat FTn bodies over at Nikonians in the "World Rotational Beatermat" thread. One camera went MIA in 2009, the other went MIA in the summer of 2010. Not sure what happened with the first one, but suspect that the second one was kept by the first person who received it after it was sent out on its journey. And, of course, the second camera was one that I'd purchased for the purpose of sending it worldwide.

8.2 is ready to go. The address has been confirmed, the camera packed and a trip to the Post Office planned for today or tomorrow.

I won't say who has the modern record (cameras 5 and 6) for camera lagering, they might still be part of this project... or they might not.

But I did have to threaten to buy an airplane ticket and bring a baseball bat...

BTW... my mother still lives in Maryland and I have been threatening to visit her.

Don't take that as a threat... much.

tim in well... you know where. (of course, since I don't have the camera, the weather has been beautiful)

I'm trying to stay out of this, because the potential confusion between "Matthew" and "Matt" could cause all sorts of bad karma (there may not be enough pagan chicken available in the entire world!).

But please know that it isn't me

Can't think of any chicken-going-to-church jokes, so I dug this one up from the Hollywood Squares...

Peter Marshall: What is a pullet?
Paul Lynde: A little show of affection.

How do you tell the pagan chickens from the ones that attend services regularly?

What makes you think Pagan chickens don't attend church regularly?

Such assumptions. Pagan churches where they sacrifice pigs.

Camera 8.2 is in Pinckney, Michigan! Thanks, Mike! I've got a nice, totally open 3-day Labor Day weekend to get my two shots in. I'll ship it next week Tuesday to J. Rollinger in Chi-town.

Marc - that's great news. At least 8.2 is going smoothly.

We're still waiting for Matthew to get 8.1 rolling again...

I was just informed by FilmSprocket that 8.2 will be on its way to me next week! I'm a bit nervous since the camera in the previous round disappeared on its way to the stop before me and 8.1 has gone MIA. I will have to inform all my neighbors to keep a lookout for the package and to text me when they see the U.S.P.S walking to my porch with it! Wait... No.. I live on the southwest side of Chicago, my neighbors might keep it for themselves! I will quietly wait for 8.2
