BLM and C-town are about the same. Rasism. One is rasism another getting to become reversed rasism. How dangerous it is?
Adequately as any form of the rasism. Skin color is irrelevant if you are not brain washed.

My first day at one of my jobs was then they fired shots into Russian White House. From tanks on the bridge.
Shorter after it we went to give free betacam tapes to cameramans who where in the middle of cross shooting. And only some bullets were trace one.

As well all may know, there have been recent protests such as the Black Lives Matter and the Charlottesville protests. Many of the ones we see on the news outbreak into violence, cars on fire, people getting hurt, officers in riot gear.

Does anybody on this subreddit have any experience going to such protests and photographing them? Any thoughts or opinions on photographing them in general?

There is a protest similar to the one in Charlottesville planned to happen in San Francisco with a counter-protest to match it. I'm wondering if I should get my feet wet into some photojournalism.
Unless you are a pro on assignment getting paid for it and value your equipment and health I suggest you stay as far away as possible from these highly charged political protests.

I've shot lots of protests while working for the papers. Don't bring much gear so you can get around easier. Maybe just a 24-70. Once you've done a few you get the hang of how they work.
You see the same photos all the time.
Team A with the signs
Team B yelling at team A
Young child with sign protesting something they know nothing about.
Older person wanting to get into the media, with a sign
Person from team A, or was it team B, with a flag over their shoulder like they just won the Olympic 100m.
Police on horses keeping the crowds apart
Guy cleaning up the garbage once it's all over, or shovelling horse shit into a wheel barrow.

Have fun and watch where you step.
