Dallmeyer Adon early variable focal length lens FS
Selling a Dallmeyer Adon lens for $150 plus shipping.
This very small lens (maybe 3" high) apparently is one of the first telephoto designs and can be used as a supplemental "add-on" attachment (hence the name) or as a stand-alone variable-focal length lens. It covers from sixth-plate to 11x14 by varying the focal length.
This one is in decent shape. There are some minor cosmetic flaws to the aluminum barrel and lens hood, but overall this is a nice example. See the photos for condition. The glass is in very good shape.
The rack-and-pinion focusing is worn in one spot and hangs up a bit there. The aperture ring works and is marked from 1-32.
The lens comes with the original semi-triangular leather case, the removable slip-on lens shade, and a green correction filter that has a couple imperfections about 1/16" in from the edge. The filter imperfections (separation?) are approximately 1/8" and 1/2" long.
The lens has an adapter ring so two sizes of flanges may be employed. But sorry, no flange is included. However, I did try a flange from a common Betax #2 shutter and it screwed on about 2 3/4 turns.
I've included a table of effective apertures, coverage, and magnifications found in an old equipment catalog on the web. I've also linked to a catalog description from the great resource at cameraeccentric.com. Check it out for more information on the potential of this lens.
Since I'm also advertising this lens elsewhere on the web, please contact me via email at smieglitz@gmail.com rather than by PM if you are interested in purchasing the lens. Email helps me identify the order in which potential buyers express interest in the item. Thanks.
