Da, Blew it: Now time for some new fun ..

Took a shot that was suppose to be at f16, for 8 seconds, but did not shut down the lens, from wide open, after focusing on the ground glass on a min speed 2x3.
Sooooooo lets have some new fun, rather than throwing the neg away, any suggestions on developing in XTOL, Hc110 or D-76?
Most likely would think it would be a stand development, which we have never done before.
Any suggestions..

If you do stand, which developer will you use? If it were me, I'd use Pyrocat-HD and do divided development.

have some coffee lying around ?
stand develop it in teaspoon measured caffenol made with instant coffee washing soda and vit c
make 1L worth and add 15cc of whatever print developer you have on hand.
stand develop for about 30 mins. you don'tneed to stand develop it if you don't want
just develop it normally ( tray shuffle ) for IDK 7-8 mins. water rinse first.
caffenol is a forgiving developer that doesn'tmind over exposed film,

C41 is a short development time. You can dilute the XTOL, just make sure there's at least 100 mL per 80 sq inches. You didn't burn this that bad. Disposable cameras, the film goes from a couple stops under to 4 stops over still gives acceptable prints.

brew it double strength and use that, i use whole bean coffee for my caffenolling

I would just reduce the normal development by 15% or so. Stock XTOL is something like 6 1/2 minutes at 68F/20C, in a small tank. I would develop for a minute less, 5 1/2 minutes in straight XTOL, invert the tank 3-4 times every 30 to 60 seconds. Both the film and the developer are very forgiving as long as you don't over dilute the developer.

Push and pull is new to me, never really got into it before, but with Tmax, it seems to have its advantages.
We have been using Xtol 1:1 to develop for 12.25 min @68* according to the other Kodak data sheet (see below) for small tank, and found, experimenting, that when we need to do a push or pull, 3 minutes, seems to work well for the dilution of 1:1.So maybe what will do, is try it for 2 minutes less @ 10.25 minutes on this one.
Ya got to understand this is a new film for me, and where also learning a new developer .. AKA .. Xtol.

With Arista edu ultra 400 aka foma, which was our main B&W film before, .. we never really saw a need to get into push and pull processing.

But this dang Tmax is incredible, and very pleased with the results and its versatility. In the learning curve we been going through, exposure timings ect, we have found at times a need to do push and pull. The film of course is more expensive, but we have done most of our testing, .. by cutting down to MF size, and using a baby 2x3. That way, we have gotten two sheets out of one 4x5.

Try to find a roll film (6×9) back for your lovely camera. TMAX films are truly amazing, and so is XTOL. I've used XTOL 1:1 for over 20 years. When I use my Jobo machine I use a oversized tank to make sure there is adequate active developer. Straight XTOL works great too and makes for easy replenishment. I use 1 shot, easy.

Try to find a roll film (6×9) back for your lovely camera

Got one ... whats nice is they also fit on the RB67. But for testing new film and developer, doing it one shot at a time, Usually take two shots of same subject with same exposure, so if we messed up we can try a different development routine, thus the push pull scenario.
And yes Xtol is also totally amazing. With the Arista, found it worked better with D-76 rather than Hc110 which blew out the highlights time after time. Eventually we will try Tmax with D-76 and Hc110, but the Xtol seems to work so well, plus got a free replacement from Kodak with the issue it had with some of the packages. But like you, my first ever bag, seemed to work fine, even though we had nothing to compare it. .
