Don't want to divert this thread, Jimbob but as an aside and in view of another thread about D76's capacity, it might be useful to know if there are instructions on its use Thanks

Yes it is home brewed. It omits the Hydroquinone. Just wondering if the formula has better keeping properties.

This formulary is to my understanding less eco than the original....🤔
Metol is actually worse than hydroquinone. Also you do not have a superadditive effect now and developing times should technically increase. D-76 ECO is basically Xtol.

Thanks Jimbob. I am a million miles away from being any kind of a chemist and from fully understanding what change Borax might make to longevity but apart from Borax this recipe bears quite a strong resemblance to a recipe I have seen for D23 made by a YouTube presenter called John Finch and if I recall correctly I found when searching that at least 6 months seems a common minimum shelf life

What you make seems possibly closer to D-76H with the Borax according to one of the comments in the D23 video which I found quite by accident and not by knowledge when checking it. As I said I am no chemist 😄
