d5500 "large" carrier

Hi All,

Rebuilding the darkroom after several years now of trying to perfect b/w digital. Ah well.

Anyway, I'm going to do 4x5 b/w with my D5500 this time around. I was previously set up for medium format and had the appropriate carrier and "masks" for 645, 66 and 67. I also have the "mask" for 4x5, but not an appropriate "carrier". I put these words in quotes because I'm not sure I have the right lingo; I'm looking for the Omega part that holds the thing that holds the negative- not the part that actually touches the neg, but rather the part that is in contact with the enlarger.

I hope that wasn't too confusing.. Wondering if someone has a part # for this, or maybe just the correct name- I'd hate to buy the wrong part.

This is the part you need - holds the inserts for all formats. Robert

I think I need to intermediate part; the item that holds the mask that slips into the part above. Man, this is confusing!

4x5 D5500 carrier insert holder

Hi -
What you need is the D Size carrier holder.
The Omega part number is 423-951 (at least is was in 1985 when I bought the
enlarger). This carrier holder will take the 4x5" insert and the 6x9cm insert.
Hope that this helps; you will probably have to go to Ebay for it.
One note - this insert crops the negs slightly. Actually, the design of the enlarger precludes printing a full-out 4x5 neg, even with the glass carrier.
