Hi,

I have a question to 135 Sonnar M42 owners:

do the lens hood move in and out without having a block system?

I bought last week this lens and all is perfect. My only doubt is if it's normal that the built-in lens hood move in this way without the possibility to stop it.
Please let me know something.
Thank you in advance

I have a Sonnar on Rollei 35 and it is newer than your lens may be 25 years. When it is moved out , its needed to rotated and locked.
Did you try to rotate and lock , same is happens at old Leitz lenses.

thank you for your reply, maybe my hood system is damaged. I tried to rotate it but it is not possible to lock it.
It is not a too bad thing, I will find a way to solve this trouble.
Thank you for your reply

Stark_674 ,

Wait other replies and dont damage your lens. May be camera body have a button to lock it , I really dont know. Wait few days for answers and than decide what to do.
Dont forget to ask photo net forums also.

I had one briefly about a year ago and if I remember correctly yes, the hood doesn't lock.

so, if I understand well, my lens is not damage and it's a normal thing that the hood go in and out without locking...
It seems a bit strange, but should be....
If someone has a lens like this, please help.
Thank you to all
Bye
