I am thinking to design a plastic or glass lens and cut its lens elements with water jet. Elements will be cylinderical and other APUGers told me , it only focus to for example only horizontal line.

I want to ask few more questions.

- What would be like the only horizontal focused lenses picture ? Is it meaningful or totaly blur.

- If I shot two pictures with this lens aligned horizontal and vertical , can computer produce a meaningful picture ?

If this concept becomes successful , no need to hassle with spherical grinding and polishing.
