Cyanotypes on an enlarger

I assume it's possible to print a cyanotype on an enlarger. I've had a play contact printing from inkjet negatives on acetate and leaving them out in the sun for a while. Will an enlarger print take a similar time to expose? Is there anything else i need to take into account as well?

I haven't tried it - the two problems I see are

1) exposure times will be LONG - the sun is far brighter than any lightbulb.
2) exposure times may be VERY LONG - the sun puts out far more UV that a lightbulb, and the filters in your enlarger may well block UV, so the paper might not be getting ANY exposure at all.

Remember you can safely handle cyanotype paper under a 40watt tungsten bulb. Your enlarger isn't much brighter than that.

not really, this is a UV process and needs sun. In fact the angle of the sun (read season), and air temperature will effect the time need to expose the paper, or fabic.

THese times run into many minutes.

However, give it a try, won't hurt anything, and that is how new technigues come about.

Not possible. Enlarge the negative, then contact print it.
