I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that does custom grip for Canon QL17 GIII rangefinders? I thought it would make for a better secure feel. I saw someone from Pinterest had a picture of one on camera, but can't get any info on where to get one or if it even exisit.
One might be tempted to tell you to "get a grip" if one was a wiseguy. It seems to us that custom grips on 50-plus-year-old cameras are like doing an IPO to manufacture spats. (I have a pair myself but I don't think it is a growth industry.) You could fashion one yourself. Nice camera. I have several of the olde non-interchangeable lens Canons and love every one of them. Built like tanks. Fine glass. Smooth to operate.
If you were to fabricate one yourself you could start with one of those off-camera flash brackets. That would give you a base plate with a screw into your tripod socket. Trim the base plate to length and then figure out and attach your grip - wood or maybe molded epoxy putty. Trim and sand to shape
