Current state of affairs of iPhone apps for photography

Unless I'm typing things wrong I can't find anything recent that discusses applications most useful for photographers.

More specifically as it applies to analog shooting:

1. viewfinder, is Mark II Artist's Viewfinder at the top? Is there anything comparable?

2. data logging, no paper notes just phone/iPad and type away short notes on each film/frame/scene/digital snaps etc

3. LF specific applications

For a while I used a logging app called PhotoEXIF. It worked well enough, I think it was $5 or so. It hasn't been updated in years, so I wouldn't expect new features. I stopped using it when I started shooting LF because its roll based and not setup for individual sheets, or film holders. It also had a number of gaps like only using the modern shutter speed progression, and not able to properly represent cameras that don't use that progression of speeds. I know there is something new, I saw this article:

But it won't run on anything prior to iOS 15, and I don't feel like upgrading.

I use an app called Art of Foto which works on my tiny phone, but isn't terribly happy on it. It has a number of features, but I use it for bellows factor calculations and reciprocity calculations (well, I will use it or reciprocity when my pinhole arrives.)

I'm on Android, and I use:

- Magic film ViewFinder by Roman Medvid (version for medium and large format cameras)
- Exposure Assistant for reciprocity failure
- Lab Timer, Massive Dev and The Unofficial HC 110 Helper for developing B&W films
- Golden Hour+ for the position of the sun (love this one!)
- Easy Measure because I can't for the life of me estimate distances
- Analog Memo for notes (recently downloaded, not tested yet)
- Light Meter

I also have the PhotoPills app on my phone but never use it.

Got LF Companion installed. So far all I can see is this neat perspective inversion, so things show up upside down on screen. This alone might be worth the FREE investment.

I've been looking for a measuring app and hadn't found the Easy Measure. Thank you, this has made my day.

While not really an app, especially when traveling and using film I take a cell phone shot at the locations I film. The gps on the phone records the location so I don't have to take notes. I imagine you could also verbally record settings etc although I don't.

There is a set of iOS and Android app forums under the Digital banner here.

I suppose if you don't have the Digi category checked they don't show. That said, it doesn't appear to have much traffic. I have a modest assortment of light meter, reciprocity, and pinhole related apps on my iPhone, though I can't say I do much with them. One, Pocket Light Meter, has a logging function that saves a thumbnail with exposure and GPS info as a formatted screen in the photo library.
