Dear All,

The management of ILFORD Photo / HARMAN technology Limited have discussed the situation regarding the poor order levels on the latest
ULF make.

We will as previously mentioned keep the order book open via our ULF partners until Friday 30th March :

ILFORD Photo / HARMAN technology Limited will manufacture all orders received REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY REACH THE MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY OR NOT : So if you have an order placed with any of our ULF partners IT WILL BE SUPPLIED.

The management of ILFORD Photo / HARMAN technology Limited do not think it is fair, or in line with our business ethics to ask end users to increase orders just to ensure they are made, or indeed that any of our end users should be without our film ( if they choose to buy ) for a period of one Year.

As to the frequency of manufacture, the management also believe that serving the ULF community is commensurate with our stated commitment
to serve all monochrome customers to the very best of our ability and to show flexibility, therefore ULF will continued to be manufactured once per annum.

It is likely that we will 'over' manufacture a small amount of stock, certainly of the larger selling items, I will post the stock levels available at the factory after the manufacture, which is now scheduled for week 19 ( week beginning monday 7th April ).

Please note : it is possible we will have some film items in boxes that may be larger than the film inside and that we will have to use spacers. Regardless the film size will be clearly marked on the boxes.

We have also clearly taken on board many of the valuable and constructive comments received from the ULF community and APUG community. So in 2008when we re-run our ULF make, we will communicate more widely, especially in the specialist ULF press and indeed on our own website, and with our distributors and ULF partners. We are also likely to set up a specific ULF database so as we can ensure everybody knows what is going on, I will communicate more later in the year.

Thank you for your patience and thank you for ordering and valuing ILFORD Photo ULF products

THANK YOU!!!

Simon and the Harman Mgmt. Team

I am speachless... and cannot convey my thanks strongly enough. Your support of the ULF and odd size foramt photogrpahers is exemplary. The easy business decision would have been to just state that these are the terms and they are met or not - but you all truly showed your passion and support for the users of your product. Thank you... THANK YOU!

I knew I wasn't mistaken about feeling good vibes about Ilford when visiting the factory last June. They permeate the place as maybe 50 or so others will also report after this year's visit.

We need a new smiley - one which represents "standing ovation".

You deserve it.

Why, in 2007, anyone exposing black and white film would purchase anything but an Ilford product for that purpose is beyond comprehension. Bravo ILFORD Photo / HARMAN technology Limited!!!!

While I'm not a ULF photographer, I followed the other thread with interest.

Simon, you guys are great. Not just because of customer sensitivity but because of extremely quick response.

In a world where we often find ourselves frustrated in dealing with nameless, faceless bureaucracies and where even "customer service" is mostly handled through automated telephone menu systems you guys are a wonderful throw back!

Every time I load a roll of Ilford 35 or 120 I feel good!

Simon,

You and your company continue to amaze. You, Veronica Cotter, and now Glazer's Camera have been so supportive. I will do my best to hold up my end.

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Rob Vinnedge

Dear Simon,

Thank you and Ilford/Harman for this wonderful gesture! Although I am not a ULF shooter, I do have an order in for 4x10 - and I don't even shoot this format now. I think I will increase my order as an appreciation of you and your company's efforts to support the film community in general and the ULF / non-standard format shooters in particular, above and beyond what is expected.

Thank you once again!

Best wishes,
Sanjay

This is a exceptionel show of commitment from Ilford. I do not shoot ULF, but I will continue to buy Ilford film (35mm and 6x6) as long as i can press a releasebutton.

Good show

You people are unbelievable! I don't shoot ULF, but damned if this doesn't make me want to try it!
Bless you Simon, and your partners, your employees, their spouses and children, their dogs and cats....
Maybe I could find an 11x14 camera I could afford before next year's order time...?

This is great news... of course I just emailed all of my clients and asked if they would up their orders. Should have read this first.

Damn. I think I'll order a box of 7x17. I don't even have a ULF camera but I'm so carried away with emotion, I might just buy a bunch. Way to go Ilford! You guys rock.

Simon;
Ilford's commitment to the community is astounding, especially in this era of profits first, customer service last. Though my biggest camera is a mere 4x5, Ilford products have just become my first choice. Thank you!
