curious about a developing tank in this CL listing

Either a tank for 220 film or (less likely)) a tank for 70mm film.

They look like Nikor tanks, which means they are of good quality (if undamaged).

(Note that Nikor is different from Nikon).

not tall enough to be a nikor 4x5 tank either.

Looks to be a 70mm tank. It's slightly taller than the 120 tank on the far right.

Nikor had a 4.5"-ish diameter series of tanks in addition to their more normal 3.5"-ish diameter series of tanks we all know and love. The 4x5 tank is one of these, but they made them in several different heights, just like their smaller cousins. I've seen 35mm, 120 and 220 reels that fit these tanks, there were almost certainly others.

Handy tip: finding a tall enough one of these tanks loose in the wild is a good way to recreate a 4x5 tank when you find one of the 4x5 reels loose in the wild, which happens from time to time.

If they are real Nikor tanks and reels, they are a good purchase. There are Japanese knockoffs with poor quality stainless that rusts and reels that I can not load. Real Nikor reels a breeze to load.

Real Nikor are stamped on the bottom. Reels you need to know. Some look close but are junk. Some are obviously different.

I have Nikor reels & tanks from 1960 that are still perfect.
