Anybody tried cross-processing this film and gotten a useable b&w neg? If so, I'd gladly welcome any recommendations for exposure and development you may have. I'm hoping I can develop in a standard b&w developer. Thanks!
This has been discussed on several other threads. Since color film contains less silver than BW film the negatives will be thin and lacking in contrast. Because of the heavy orange mask enlarger exposures will be quite long. Many people would say that this is not a good idea.
You can get excellent B&W density on colour films.
Someone's already made very nice B&W from 500T on another thread.
I just printed late last night some Portra 160 6x7cm to 8x10" Ilford Warmtone paper, and it looks beautiful, not lacking in contrast. Those people who say it's a bad idea have probably never tried it, because the results are very nice. Graded filters and split-grade printing still works as well.
