There are others who have done this including myself. The orange mask does NOT vanish, and the images are quite low in contrast with low Dmax compared to a real slide film.PE
Are these results consistent for each kind of film? There was one random film I had that didn't have much of a mask.
Most are low contrast, though I've had several before that don't look like orange slides, but more blueish.
I cross processed some Superia X-TRA 800 once, not using the standard first dev, results were extremely blue.
Also did some Reala once, that actually looked really good (also not standard first dev), the highlights/clear areas just weren't neutral, tinted by the base colour. I've also had the base colour come out different to what it does in standard C-41.
Interesting. Do you have any examples of this?If you're looking for something visually interesting to experiment with, then something which I've tried once which is exceptionally striking is processing E-6, but developing the colour portion twice - you need to bleach off the negative with a b&w reversal bleach prior to colour development, clear the bleach and wash, colour develop and bleach as normal, then clear the bleach and wash, and drop it back in the colour dev stage again and process as normal from there. Contrast and saturation become extremely excessive.
Can't represent it properly on a screen since it has increased dMax and contrastInteresting. Do you have any examples of this?
