Does anyone use these things anymore?

Not long ago I used a lab that required all of the 120 color neg that I wanted to have ennlarged be mounted on these cards. That lab, however, converted to "digital". I can still have them make prints but it takes anywhere from 5 to 20 days.

So I took negs that are mounted on crop cards to another local lab. They are still quite "analog", but the guy at the desk looked at me like I had three ears when I showed him my negs mounted on crop cards. He can make the enlargements in 3 days but he did mention that cut negs "are a real pain".

Does anyone still use crop cards... or do I really have three ears?

Thanks for the kind thought, Steve. I'll have to check out some of the labs you mention. I have never used A&I for anything other than E6 processing and never used ProOne.

Before using another lab, I'll certainly ask if they can print negs mounted to crop cards - the lab I used unmounted them and did so by pulling. Half of my negs now have one or more crescent-shaped bends in them. Half of my prints now have white crescent-shaped marks... fortunately in the background, but...

My first reply was from work so I did not have the following contact information. I have used Al Khosravi for custom work that was all done optically [analog]. He has made 24" x 36" prints from 35mm for me numerous times and his work has been superb.
