Crease Mark?

This looks like a crease mark to me, but the film isn't creased, and I am careful about that. It could be that I did something in bulk loading, since I am aggressive about trying to have as many usable frames at the beginning and end of a roll as I can.

My other thought is that this lens has a small scuff on it that has never affected my images. Could it be that the light caught the scuff just right and made it flare in this way?

It looks like a crease to me, but I have never had a crease mark without knowing exactly how it happened, since I pay attention to my process. And again, the film isn't creased.

Have you checked to make sure that spot got fixed? There is no emulsion left sticking to the neg?? A pinch point or crease would cause the I would think a thinner line. Unless all your other images shot with this lens exhibited the same blotch I wouldn't suspect the lens. I looks like a development issue to me.
 
If it didn't get fixed, wouldn't it be black instead (blank on the negative)? The negative looks like light leaked in. There is another mark just like it at the beginning of the roll (this one is the second frame), so I thought it could be some kind of loading mistake.

I'll upload a pic of the negative when I get a chance.
 
Crease marks for me, when I've gotten them, were narrower and either curved or slightly V-shaped. What you have there looks like it was caused by light, but I'm not too sure what would cause a spot in the middle of just a single frame like that. Light leaks from the camera body often extent to the edges of the film and light leaks from a shutter curtain would affect multiple frames.

As you suggest, it will be easier to troubleshoot if we can see the neg.
 
Here is the negative. As I said, it is at the beginning of a bulk loaded roll. There is another similar mark just before the first frame. I thought maybe it was from the gate closing on the film from the bulk loader, but that doesn't make sense since the first frames are the last things loaded onto the roll, not the first. There are no more of these marks in the rest of the roll, although there are some light leaks on the sides of some frames that look like normal light leaks. I need to replace the seals on my FM.

 
Looks more like a leak in the cassette.
 
You may be right. Maybe the foam at the lead is going bad, but the rolled up film protects all but the first couple of shots.
