Craig Sharp's Sausalito Photographs

Scott Sharp, son of Sausalito photographer Craig Sharp (1924-1994), has donated 83 prints from his father's original negatives for the permanent collection of the Sausalito Historical Society. The new donation includes images of historic, Sausalito sailing ships - the Lassen, the Albatross and the Wanderer - and famous artists and sailors - Ted Christensen, Jean Varda, Richard Yip, Ed and Loyola Fourtane and Sterling Hayden. The exhibit also features intimate scenes of the artist's community that lived aboard the Lassen while it settled into the mud at the foot of Johnson Street.

Craig Sharp was a member of the small "art colony" that lived aboard the historic steam schooner Lassen while she was beached on the Sausalito waterfront following WWII.
