Also posted over at LFF. But many of you don't go there and vice versa.

The Kilgore's didn't know what they were getting themselves in for when they asked my daughter Tina to photograph their daughter's wedding.

BTW, my showing off aside, Tina did a damn fine job of the color stuff. I was just having some fun, and good wine, and red meat:D:D

Great stuff, again.

Jim, you have a wonderful eye for capturing the "non-glitz" rural Nevada far removed from the casinos and "players".

As "the West" continues to fill up with subdevelopments full of "commuter cowboys" in shiny late-model pickups - it's nice to see someone recording a time that is sadly passing by.

Jim, as usual you have captured a good time with great images. Nice to see these folks in a celebration of life and love. Best wishes to the bride & groom. tim

P.S. Sounds like the food and spirits were "just right" as well.

Beautiful stuff, Jim.

Are filmholders and such available easily for the Kodak 2D? I ask because I'd like to eventually buy a 5x7, and in general older means cheaper, and I've seen some that *look* nice over on the 'bay.

There are some used 5x7 film holders out there- generally they're pricey right now. However, within the immediate future, both Shen Hao and Fotoman will be selling NEW 5x7 film holders. Badger Graphic is carrying the Shen Haos, and several places will be carrying the Fotomans. The Shen Haos are wood, and the Fotomans will be plastic. Expected pricing on both is around $70 apiece.

A complete Kodak 2D is a fine place to start in 5X7. Make sure that it has the extension bed which was a seperate piece and often missing, and also the tripod block that centers the cameras weight over the tripod. Used 5X7 holders are around. I have a sweet 5X7 2D that I will sell later on this winter after I catch up and have some time to make a new bellows for it. Kodak 2D's all use the most common iteration film holders.

Nice Jim.

Doug, I have a 5x7 2d and when a good 8x10 popped up on the market I nabbed it. If you want the new type plastic film holders you are going to pay for them. The old wooden ones, if in good condition are just as good and pretty darn cheap. I have one plastic film holder and it broke. I have many wooden ones and they are still kicking. Who says new is better?

I think we need to start a 2d fan club.

Thanks for the info FlyingCamera, Jim, & Mark.

Jim, by winter I may be ready to spend money on a 5x7, so I'll watch for yours. Or you can email me if you'd rather. I assume it'll be listed on the Classifieds here?
