So, if Instax is selling so well, could it be used as proofing material in a back for 4x5 or 6x7 cameras? Coukd a third party make one? Where can I get more info on instax?

I've got a back for FP100/FP3000B on Mamiya 645AF, but didn't use it much because it wasted so much of the surface area, left my limited stocks for use on my 4x5.
A friend took some photos at a party I had with her Instax, I've just checked and it's almost exactly the same frame size as using FP100 on my M645AF.
Even FP100 was OK but not great for proofing 4x5 shots. The exposure was OK but it missed the borders so not the best for framing.
But on 645 I'd be perfectly happy using regular instax if a back were made.

How big is Instax Wide, would it be a bit bigger and closer to 6x7 and possibly more useful?

Actual image size of instax wide is 99x62mm. The print size is roughly the same as a 3x4 or fp100 sheet. The lomo instant back needs to be modified in order to be used on a different camera. Some of the nice instax conversions I've seen are Polaroid 110s, Mamiya Press, Polaroid 600SE and a Graflex SLR. So far, I've managed to modify an old instax wide camera as a back for my Century graphic (I've posted it on a thread here). It's ugly and clunky but it works.
