COT 320 Supplier

I'm looking to buy COT 320 in full-sheet size (22x30 or whatever). Any suggestions where to get it, or does everyone sell this stuff for the same price?

you surely will find a suppplier in the USA;, but I may keep you prevent that I have bad result with the batch number 5206. It seems that there are ferric particle in it as my print get dark spot in the developing step.
5205 was great batch but 5206 look more hard. It is just a problem for platinum palladium as it won't affect kallitype or other alt process.

I contact Bergger in Frnace to get mor einformation . But at first avoid this batch.

I recall being told that B+S was the only place to get full sheets. That may have changed, however.

Bergger has kept good control over pricing in the US, so there is no discounting going on that I am aware of.

Arches strikes again! This is Platine deja vu. Some batches great, others nearly useless.

It is the firts ime it happen to me with Cot 320. There some batch that are better than other but they all keep printable and ferric free. But this time it happens like it happens to Arches.

I have been using this same batch of paper making Ziatypes but haven't seen any problems yet (other than from me overexposing the print ). How big is this dark spot on your print?

I just purchased the paper in the size mentioned from B&S last week. They didn't have it in stock but drop shipped it from Berrger in Rockford, IL.

Do you remember what the price was? Do you know what batch number you have??

For those who don't know, COT 320 is made by Arches for Bergger. It is very similar to Arches Platine, although (up until now) more consistent. Bergger mostly makes labels that they slap on products made by other companies.

FWIW,

Art Craft Chemicals is a Berrger dealer and sells paper for slightly less than B&S in all sizes, however I don't think they actually stock sizes other than 8x10 and drop ship from Berrger in all larger sizes. If you live east of the Mississippi you can save a little on the shipping and a wee bit on the paper.

this are little dots easily viewable on the mask border or in the sky aera.
I contacct Bergger and will know more soon. May be the problem come at the cutting stage and don't touch all the batch. but the package I have it. This will be only viewale with platinum palladium.;

Great....I have batch #5206! I haven't opened it yet though. Berrger paper is the same cost per sq. inch no matter how much or what size you buy. I wonder if I should even try this stuff or send it back to B&S. The only reason I got it was they were out of stock of the 11X14.

I got my 11x14 COT from B&S (batch #5206) and I've used about half of the package already. It seems to me to be fine. What size do you have, Mike?

I got the 11x14 but I buy it in France. I am happy to hear that it works for you this sound like I got bad package but not all the batch is bad. Be sure that I don't make any mistake like cutting with blade. the print which show the marks are coated with coating rod. and when I change of bacth using the same chemical I got no problem with the print.

Just noticed this, I have some COT320, picked it up from Freestyle (but I think they get it direct from B&S) in 11x14, will check the batch # when I get home tonight...but when you might check with Freestyle to see if they have any or a different batch.

I bought the 22X30 size and I have talked to B&S this morning and they say they haven't had any complaints to date on this.

Nice to hear this. Iam just unlucky for this time as It seems I got the bad sheets. But I am pleased to hear that all the batch is not as mine , as I will buy more , I wil try another shop may be they got good one.

I resisted, I really did, but I had to go home and check my batch number. It's 5205. Whew....

While this is an important topic to those of us putting noble metals on paper, I can't help but think this is truly one of the most esoteric topics ever discussed on this forum.

At that hypothetical APUG conference, in a hotel bar, late at night, a group of the alt printers reminiscing about batches of uncoated paper. "Now that batch 4917, there was a great paper..." And knowing nods, all around...
