I visited a folk museum earlier in the week, and one of the exhibits was a Corfield 66. I'd never seen one before and it was a handsome beast, with reputedly very few made (the label said 300 IIRC) Googling the 66 it seems the standard 90mm was the only lens produced from what was intended to be a system camera before the company folded, although other accessories were made. I suppose the chances of purchasing one are slim?

One of my first cameras was a Coffield Periflex 3. An ingenious camera that also worked very well.

If you really want a ‘wow’ factor, search for the Corfield WA 67 with 47mm f5.6 Schneider Super Angulon (original name Corfield Architect and something that long preceded the Silvestri range - which are also shift body cameras).

Bests,

David.

I see Corfield 66 cameras for sale occasionally and with excellent lenses, rarely expensive though.

A few years ago I'd meet Sir Kenneth Corfield when he was a driving force behind Gandolfi after the brothers retired, a really nice man, a genuine passion for photography, but a realist.
