I recently scored a Jobo 4550 print drum, NOS with all accessories and would like to use it on my CPP2 with Lift. The drum itself has a rubber cap over a funnel arrangement, no magnet. The manual says you can buy a 4233 magnet to stick on the bottom but I have a lift so that option is no good to me.

Is it possible to adapt one of these drums to a lift cog? I know you can buy a cog to put on the top of a 2xxx drum; will that same cog latch onto the top of this drum?

give me outside diameter of the drum and I'll measure the lids I have. Maybe we can find the right size.

Drum diameter is about 139mm and the lid is a slip-fit to that, like it is on the 3xxx drums. It's not a clip-on like the 2xxx drums.

The bit of lid that the red cap fits over is about 74mm OD. There's not really any room inside that cap fitting because the funnel comes right up to the lip with just 1.5mm clearance for drainage.

Some of the 4500 system tanks will accept 2500 system lids directly with no modifications. If you have any, try them on.
BTW - even if you got that tank for free, you can find 2850 drums with cog lid (for up to 16X20) for 30$ or so on the sleazbay...

I've had a look at my old JOBO manuals and measured all my lids. Nothing new will fit. 1500 , 2500 series too small. 3000 series to big. Worth a look though.

Thanks for looking. Looks like I'm hand-rolling it in the bath.

I considered making an adapter in my lathe but am pretty sure that the drum centreline won't line up with either 2xxx or 3xxx cog attachment on the lift. Maybe with the roller extenders in the 1xxx position I can get it to line up with the 3xxx attachment but I don't hold out much hope there.
